This speed skating suit was worn by Jorrit Bergsma during the 10,000 metres at the Winter Olympics 2026 in Milan–Cortina, where he claimed the bronze medal at the age of 40 with a time of 12:40.48. It marked the third Olympic 10,000 metres medal of his career and made Bergsma the oldest medallist in Olympic long-track speed skating history. Over the course of his career, he had only skated faster than his Milan time on two previous occasions.

In addition, this hybrid suit is the result of a multi-year development process, during which it has been continuously refined and optimised by Sportconfex, with the aim of ensuring that TeamNL athletes can compete as competitively as possible at the Winter Olympics.

Where the money goes

___________

Every Olympian started small: taking their first steps on a local natural ice rink or in their socks in front of the TV. The proceeds of these auctions will benefit the clubs where TeamNL’s athletes took their first steps in the sport and/or where they are currently active. These are the grassroots sports clubs where the foundations were laid for their performances at the Olympic Winter Games in Milan–Cortina. Through this auction, the athletes give something back to the places where their sporting journeys began, supporting the development of new talent and investing in the Dutch sporting heroes of tomorrow.
